Languages

Children at Oakfield come into contact with languages early. Our youngest children are introduced to French during weekly sessions, where they learn simple phrases and songs in fun interactive lessons.

We use the Jolie Ronde course with a focus on spoken French and a wide range of vocabulary in a natural way that children can understand and enjoy. 

We invite French theatre groups into the school, and set up opportunities on site for pupils to speak French, for example our Le Café Oakfield during French Day.
