History

There has been a school at Oakfield since 1888. It is not unusual for former students to visit Oakfield and tell stories of ‘dorms’ in what is now our Pre Prep, climbing trees in the extensive gardens or indeed playing in an old London taxi that was once a feature of the playground.

Once extensive family homes, the four magnificent villas have been imaginatively adapted as a preparatory school since 1987. The School has developed very strong links with the top local independent senior schools, to which we enjoy an enviable reputation of successful entry at 11+.
